Palawan is a long string of islands located on the western coast of the Visayas Region. It is dubbed as the "Best Island in the Philippines" because of its impressive natural attractions from karst caves to paradise-like beaches. It also played an important role in the country's history, dating back to the Second World War.

The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River in Palawan was voted in 2012 as one of the "7 Wonders of the World". It boasts a long underground river which travels more than 8km through a natural cave system and flows directly into the sea.
The attraction's turquoise blue waters are surrounded by rustic beige karst caves and complemented by the bright orange lifevests of tourists on cerulean blue long-tail boats drifting through the river.
