Aklan is one of four provinces that make up Panay Island in the Western Visayas Region, along with Antique on its southwest, Capiz on its southeast, and Iloilo which it doesn't directly border.
It is home to the famous white sand beaches of Boracay, as well as the vibrant street parades of the Ati-Atihan Festival.
